Soarin’ Through the Clouds

This is the card I created for SUO Challenge #270–Sky High–Things that Fly. I knew immediately I wanted to use the Soar Confidently Stamp Set., but I just wasn’t sure whether I wanted to use the airplane, hot air balloon, or air ship. They’re all amazing and vintage and make such fun images. But, as you can see I settled on the airship.

The first step in creating this card was to create the background. I used a cloud stencil, taped it over the card layer so it wouldn’t slip, and then sponged the clouds with Whisper White ink.

The card base and card front layer were the blue from the Paper Craft Crew Challenge this week and I used watercolor pencils in the other challenge colors to add color to the stamped image. The sentiment was then stamped in pink (Melon Mambo) with brings attention to it. The airship is flying through the sky wishing you a Happy Birthday.
