What’s the Difference?
Stampin’ Up! ® carries different types of stamps. But, what’s the difference? If you’ve never stamped before or even if you have but have only used one kind of stamp, how do you know what to choose?
Here’s a quick rundown on the different types.
Cling Stamps
Cling stamps are probably what you think of first when you think of stamping. They are made of red rubber with somewhat of a cushy, foam like element. You may have seen them mounted to wooden blocks.
Stampin’ Up!’s cling stamps don’t come mounted to a block. This makes them more versatile and you can choose to use a clear block or a stamping platform for your stamping.
“Our die-cut, cling stamps are made of high-quality red rubber. They come with a strong image label that clings like crazy to our clear blocks or Stamparatus plates for easy stamping. Stamp, then remove the stamp for space-saving storage. (Clear blocks and Stamparatus are sold separately.)”–Stampin’ Up!®
Photopolymer Stamps
Photopolymer stamps are see through which makes two-step stamping easier, or maybe you can see how to line up the stamp if you need to restamp because you didn’t get it inked all the way.
They do need some sore of stamping surface under the paper rather than just the table to get a clean image. This could be foam, grid paper pad, even an old catalog.
My favorite feature of Photopolymer stamps is their flexibility. They can be bent to create more fluid or curving lines and images. Let your creativity run wild with photopolymer stamps. There is no need for all your stamping to be rigid and straight.
“Our top-quality photopolymer stamps are entirely transparent for perfect image placement, and they adhere well to our clear blocks. They’re flexible and easy to line up, giving you even more creative possibilities with each set. You can mix and match, bend, and layer images easily.”–Stampin’ Up!®
DistINKtive Stamps
Love photo realistic images? Want the look of depth without having to add extra coloring or two or three step stamping? Then DistINKtive stamps are for you.
One step stamping gives you an image that looks like you’ve worked hard to add detail like shadows.
“Get photo-realistic style images with Distinktive stamps, available only from Stampin’ Up! Distinktive stamps have a special texture that gives added depth and dimension in a single step. They’re available in red rubber and photopolymer; look for the Distinktive icon. Distinktive patent pending.”–Stampin’ Up!®
