Flower Garden
Probably my favorite part of walking around town in the spring and summer is running across a flower garden. There are so many varieties blooming all around. Every day it’s fun to see what new flowers have started to bloom.
I, personally, have more of a black thumb than a green thumb. The only time I really had a gorgeous, healthy flower garden was the summer I was in the hospital from June 7-September 11 and it was lovingly cared for by someone else. My flowers that year were absolutely stunning. But, that was the one and only time that ever happened. I think the common denominator of all the other flower seasons was the addition of my black thumb.
So, I think I’ll focus more on creating paper flower gardens on cards. Even my black thumb can’t ruin the amazing flower gardens on Stampin’ Up!® Designer Series Paper.

Card Details
Want to create a gorgeous flower garden, but have a black thumb of your own? Not sure how to create a gorgeous flower garden on a card, either? I want to turn your crafting stress into success. Stampin’ Up!® has already done all the hard work on their Designer Series Paper. Just choose which flowers you want to add to your card and cut the patterned paper to fit.
I chose to CASE the horizontal card from the inspiration photo for this SUOC CASE the catalog challenge.
- Feature a flower garden focal image rectangle on the front of the card. I chose the pattern from the Velvet Meadow DSP and cut a 4″ x 3″ rectangle to add to the card front.
- Add flowers to the garden with dimensionals. I chose to fussy cut additional flowers from the same patterned paper and add those for additional dimension.
- Add texture to card front both above and below flower garden rectangle. I used a textured stamp from the Gears & Textures stamp set.
- Embellishments added the final touch. I used both retired Brushed Brass Butterflies and 2026-2028 In Color Butterflies.

This card was created for the Stampin’ Up!® Only Challenge 402: CASE the catalog page 33. I was inspired by the horizontal card using the Velvet Meadows DSP pattern that is a flower garden. I would love to see what you are inspired to create for SUO Challenge 402. This challenge is open through Sunday, June 7. Please share your creation with us at SUOC402.
