Do you ever find yourself struggling to come up with a card design? Yeah, me too. I want to help turn your crafting stress into success. One way to get your creative juices flowing is to sit down with a fun simple sketch and see what inspires you.

One of my favorite ways to keep it simple is to feature gorgeous patterned paper. Someone else has already gone to a lot or work to create what could end up being the showstopping image for the front of your card. What you need to do is take that piece of patterned paper and frame it like a piece of art on a gallery wall. Ironically, the paper used on this card is from the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper Pack from Stampin’ Up!

Card Details

Stampin’ Up!® makes it so easy to create a card worthy of hanging in an art gallery. Their Designer Series Paper is gorgeous enough on it’s own. But, to pair it with other products using the same colors found in their patterned paper, takes it to the next level. Since all of Stampin’ Up!®’s products of the same color name match perfectly, this makes for pretty easy card creation.

The Designer Series paper packaging lists the Stampin’ Up!® colors that are found in that patterned paper. Since I knew the Beautiful Gallery DSP used the colors Secret Sea and Cloud Cover, I knew the cardstock of those colors would make a perfect card base, frame, and sentiment label. Then, I added the sentiment with Secret Sea Ink on the Cloud Cover Cardstock and added a few antique pearls to finish out the card.

But, I couldn’t stop there. I looked through all my Designer Series Paper Packs to see what else could be used with this card sketch.

This card was created for Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge 411. It began as one card created for a design team challenge. And quickly turned into multiple ideas for card designs using the same sketch.
