Gears and Grunge
Do you like things that look new and shiny? Or are you more interested in things that are well-loved and look like they have a lot of stories to tell? I’m more of the second. Anything considered steampunk is welcome in our house. I love the idea of gears and grunge and wondering what stories they have to tell about their past experiences.
If any of you don’t know. The Steampunk style is fashioned in the 19th century with futuristic machines inspired by steam powered engines. There is a lot of ingenuity and making things work in ways that they did not back then. It’s a fun blend of sci-fi, fantasy, and imagination. And, I would say, gear and grunge are a big part of it.
Card Details
Not sure what to do with the negative pieces left behind after diecutting, hot foiling, etc.? I want to turn your crafting stress into success. Use them for background pieces on another project.
This card uses a lot of die cutting and mixed metals to create a steampunk look.
- The large circle is diecut from a piece of Nature’s Walk DSP with a distressed pattern.
- The gears and other textured pieces are diecut from Gears & Textures Dies.
- I used the negative from a piece I hot foiled with the Echoes of Detail Hot Foil Dies to create he gold foil brick image in the background.
- Finally, add extra metallic touches with the adhesive-backed metallic gems
