Petals and Leaves

Soft Sea Foam card and embossed meadow layer start a soft spring card perfect for any occasion. The addition of the pastel patterns on the punched flowers finished off with pearl centers adds even more spring softness and elegance. This card was stamped with a birthday sentiment, but it could be used for a variety of occasions. The softness of the colors on this card along with the tone on tone embossing gives me a sense of calmness and peace. It’s always amazing to me how much color impacts our moods.

This card was created for the Just Pick Two challenge and Just Add Ink. I picked petals and leaves. There were both on the embossing folder, so once that was added to the front, the card technically qualified for the challenge. But I wanted to add more of both. Both were created with punches–the leaves from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock using the oak leaf punch from the Autumn Punch Trio now in the clearance rack and the flowers from Hydrangea Hill DSP using the small bloom punch.

I lay out the flower and leaf punches where I wanted them on the card and then used some Glad Press and Seal to pick up the dies all at one time, add adhesive, and put them back down on the card front in the same pattern. It’s much easier for me to do it that way than to try to glue one piece at a time without losing the pattern.
