Pop Up Card

August had five Thursdays this year, which matched perfectly with the five crafts featured in the Crafting With You bundle. Since this is the fifth Thursday, it also means a fun fold card. Let’s feature a rainbow of yarn art on a pop up card.

Blue pop up card with patterned paper strips that look like torn paper in rainbow colors covering back layer of card front and the sides of the pop up rectangle. The featured image on the pop out banner is seven bundles of yarn stamped in the seven different colors of the rainbow--ROYGBIV. Sentiment says, "Life is better when you're crafting."

Card Details

Do you get stressed trying to get your typical cards to stand up? Do you love the thought of a card that “pops up” when you take it out of the envelope? Do you like the idea of one that is meant to stand up all on it’s own? I want to turn your crafting stress into success. Let’s make a pop up card together.

This card is created from piece of 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ cardstock scored and folded to make a rectangle block base that will pop up when you remove the card from the envelope. First, cut a piece of 8 1/2″ x 11″ cardstock in half horizontally to create your 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ card base for this card. Next, score the cardstock at 1 1/4″, 2 1/4″, 3 1/2,” and 4 1/2″. Next, fold your card in half with the 4 1/2″ score line. Finally, fold the smaller score marks to create the rectangle pop up element.

The colors in the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper pack are perfect for a bright rainbow card. Stamp the balls of yar in the colors that coordinate directly with the patterned paper.

To all my yarn artists out there–I’m curious. Do you have balls of yarn in all rainbow colors? I’d love to see pictures of them all lined up together. Please share.
