Video: Flip Up Fun Fold Ice Cream

June brings ice cream–both in real life and as my featured stamp set for the month. It is so much fun to play with. I am sad to tell you that after I created this card, I have learned that the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper is SOLD OUT. That’s the danger of Last Chance Products–you never know when they’re going to be gone for good. So, this design is still fun to recreate, but if you didn’t get the Ice Cream Corner DSP before it sold out, you’ll just have to find another fun patterned paper to use.

No matter what patterned paper you choose to use, this design is a little bit different and a lot of fun to create. The patterned paper really is the star of the show both as the background for the cardstock layer and also on the top of the fun smaller card attached to the bottom layer.

I think adding the ribbon and sentiment label a little wider than the card makes it clear it opens up so you can see the message inside. I just love creating cards that are a little bit different than you’d expect. Anyone else?

During the LIVE video, I mentioned you’d be able to see the popsicle version of this card on my blog, so here it is.

The design/creative process for this version of the card is very much the same, only using the popsicle patterned paper and stamping and fussy cutting a popsicle to use on the card front instead of the ice cream cone. I’m finding the hotter the weather gets, the more I would choose a popsicle or fruit pop over an ice cream cone.

What about you? What is your favorite hot weather treat?
